Gary "Shine" Wayne Dake, age 67, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born in Tuscumbia on November 18, 1953, son of the late George Dake Jr. and Marilyn Sue Humphrey.

Gary had a strong work ethic. He had a fulfilling career as a dump truck operator for various local businesses and a career spanning over 20 years as a GM certified mechanic. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing and motorsports. Gary's family will remember his contagious smile, the dedication to his family, and his heart of gold.

He is survived by three children, Holley Dake, Garrett Fancher (LeAnn), and Emily Fancher; four grandchildren, Nole Wise, Shaelynne Wilson, Larrissa Wilson, Justice Wilson, and one on the way; great-grandchild, Jaylin Brewer; sister, Tina Rae Thomas (Hadley), mothers of his children, Sharon Dake and Kathy Fancher; special aunt and uncle, Ronnie and Marilyn Humphrey and their children, Rhonda Patterson, Scott Humphrey, and Amber Blankenship; special friends, Bill Wedel and Dave Clymore and their family; canine companion, Taco Dake; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Ray Thomas, brother, Douglas Joe Dake, and special friend, Bill Freegard.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, July 20, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Chip Sanders officiating. Interment will be held in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.
