Gaylon Kettinger, age 60, of Brumley, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home. He was born in Burnet, Texas, on August 30, 1960, son of Frank and Shirley (Wright) Kettinger. On March 2, 1991, in Tuscumbia, Gaylon was united in marriage to Mary Mercurio, who survives at their home.
Gaylon loved fishing and camping and was an excellent musician. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Richland.
In addition to his loving wife, Mary Kettinger, he is also survived by his father, Frank Kettinger of Richland; daughter, Pepper Smart (Kevin) of Brumley; two sons, Mike Pemberton and Aaron Pemberton both of Brumley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Kettinger of Chattanooga, TN; three sisters, Gina Smith of Stoutland, April York of St. Robert, and Melody Phillips of Barnhart; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Kettinger; son, Bill Duncan; mother-in-law, Virginia Surbaugh; and his step-mother, Dena Kettinger.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with final inurnment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
