IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George "Buddy"
Thomas Alderman
January 23, 1940 – January 27, 2023
George Thomas "Buddy" Alderman, age 83, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at his home with family by his side. George was born on January 23, 1940, in St. Louis, son of the late Mark L. and Delores (Haley) Alderman.
George graduated from high school in San Manuel, Arizona, in 1957. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was assigned to duty in San Francisco, California. While there he met and married his first wife, Lorraine A. Graff, with whom he had four children, Robert William Alderman, George Wayne Alderman, Stephen Walter Alderman, and Joann Carol Alderman-Simmons (Sam).
George later relocated with his children to Iberia, Missouri. There he owned and operated an establishment known as "The Junction", a bar and grille located on Hwy 17. He was an avid sports fan and loved his music. George was dearly loved by family and friends and his lightheartedness will surely be missed by all who knew him well.
In addition to his children, George is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Tori, Matthew, Rachel, Charlie, Nicolas, Mason, and Kaydi, as well as Nathaniel (Nate) Simmons, and Gabriel (Gabe) Simmons; sister, Debra Rayhart; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Alderman Stout Musick and Cheryl Lynn Alderman-Holmes; two brothers, Robert L. Alderman and Mark Allen Alderman; and wife, Charlotte Alderman.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
