Geraldine "Gerry" Russell, age 57, of Iberia, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Iberia on February 14, 1952, daughter of Leonard and Louisa (Luttrell) Russell.

Geraldine attended Crossroads Baptist Church near Ulman.

She is survived by her mother, Louisa Russell of Iberia; four brothers, Eugene Russell and wife Carol of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Rick Russell and wife Patti of Iberia, Randy Russell and wife Toni of Iberia; and J.D. Russell and wife Lisa of Iberia; two sisters, Cathy Whittle of Brumley and Joyce Beabout and husband Mark of Iberia; two half-brothers, Gail Russell and Tad Russell both of Iberia; 16 nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Charles Caldwell and Bro. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cancer Wing at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
