Gertie "Lou" Starnes, age 82, of Iberia, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Fulton Manor.  She was born on February 17, 1940, daughter of the late Clifford and Essie (Luttrell) Witt.

Her favorite pastime was crocheting, creating countless keepsakes throughout the years.  Gertie's passion was spreading the word of Jesus and enjoyed discussing her faith with others.  She was a devoted member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Iberia.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Paula) Starnes of New Bloomfield and Kenneth Starnes of Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers & sisters, Eula Robinson, Norman Witt, Dorothy Fish, Bonnie McDowell, Marvin Witt, Willard Witt, Icle Hamilton, Gary Linn Witt, Alfred Witt, Linda Phillips, and an infant sister.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
