Obituary
Gladys L. Humphrey, age 93, of St. Charles, formerly of Iberia, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009, at National Health Care in St. Charles. She was born in Freeburg, Illinois, on September 27, 1915, daughter of John Peter and Emma (Jones) Frisch. On September 12, 1942, in Warrenton, Gladys married William Ernest Humphrey Sr., who preceded her in death on March 26, 1998.
Gladys was a member of the Iberia American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of Iberia United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, William E. Humphrey Jr. of St. Charles and John C. Humphrey of Woodville, Alabama; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Roy L. Gilkey officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to Union Cemetery.
