Glen "Sonny" Irwin, age 79, of Linn Creek, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home. He was born in Iberia, on October 12, 1941, son of the late Joe Franklin and Gladys Lorene (Wyrick) Irwin. On August 1, 1983, Sonny was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Mayer, who survives at their home.

Sonny honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman and loved hunting. He enjoyed spending his time tending to his garden and taking care of his chickens. Sonny was devoted to his family and loved the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Shirley Irwin, he is also survived by three sons, Brian Irwin, Brent Irwin, and Joshua Plemmons; daughter, Amanda McDonald; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gaynell Webb and Betty Rodden and husband Gary; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Biesheuvel.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with a graveside service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 20, at Iberia Cemetery with Bro. Freddie Earp officiating.
