Glenvel Dean Shreve, age 73, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at his home. He was born in Waynesville on August 10, 1947, son of the late Glen Victor and Georgia Dean (Jarrett) Shreve. On June 30, 1970, in Iberia, Glenvel was united in marriage to Linda Piggott, who survives at their home.

Glenvel honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of the Iberia American Legion Post 105. He served past president on both the Iberia School Board and Miller County Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle near Iberia.

He retired from Fort Leonard Wood after 27 years of employment and was also employed with Gasco for several years as a propane truck driver. He loved his family and his favorite pastimes included attending his children and grandchildren's extracurricular activities.

In addition to his loving wife, Linda Shreve, he is also survived by three children, Glenvel Shreve (Sheila), Steven Shreve (Lovena), and Rachel Skiles (Jon); 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Jade, Kesia, Zachary, Taylor, Brett, Jaron, A.J., Toby, Liam, and Morgan; nine great-grandchildren, Paislee, Natalie, Jase, Brinlie, Nathan, Gemma, Charlotte, Preston, and Ava; four sisters, Karen Jenkins, Linda Cameron (Jim), Mary Boone, and Betty Hopper (Harold); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Shreve.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service at 1 p.m., on Saturday, November 7, at Faith Tabernacle near Iberia. Interment with military honors was held in Jarrett Cemetery near Iberia.

Facial masks and social distancing are encouraged for anyone attending the visitation or service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Tabernacle, donations will go towards the church building fund, or Jarrett Cemetery.
