Guy Shook, age 72, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, October 12, 2006, at his home. He was born in Mars Hill, North Carolina, on October 22, 1933, son of Junie and Maggie (Gentry) Shook. He was first married to Grace Maude Southerland of Sebastian, Florida, who survives. In 1964, in California, he was married to Anna Elizabeth Goeller, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2006.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He lived in the Jefferson City area for over 40 years and worked on many construction projects in the area including the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant near Fulton. He was a member of the 662 Laborers International Union and Bible Baptist Church in Jefferson City. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Other survivors include two sons, Gregory Guy Shook of Mt. Morris, Michigan, and Guy Anton Shook of Holts Summit; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. C. F. Skelton will officiate. Military honors will be presented after the service.
Interment will be at a later date at Shook Cemetery in Mars Hill, North Carolina.
