Harold J. Crider, age 77, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Maries County on November 15, 1945, son of the late Samuel and Anna (Sudheimer) Crider.  On June 12, 1965, in Maries County, Harold was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Thompson, who survives at their home.

Harold would often be found drinking a cup of coffee on his front porch.  He took pleasure in picking guitar and as an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a man of few words, but he was a great storyteller.  He cherished his family and always welcomed the company of his friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Mary, he is also survived by three children, Robin (Billy) Howser, Kelly Knowles, and Norman (Angela Kingery) Crider; 8 grandchildren, Beth, Jessica (Jeffrey), Logan, Anna, Callie, DJ, Will, Katie, Dayle, and Broderick; honorary granddaughter, Grace; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty, Lucy, Shirley (Bob), and Linda.; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five siblings, Georgia, Norman, Leo, Katie, and Lois.

Harold's final wishes were to be cremated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children's Shriner Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
