IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Heather Lea
Luttrell
March 14, 1972 – June 7, 2024
Heather Lea Luttrell, age 52, of Smithton formerly of Iberia, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Tuscumbia on March 14, 1972, daughter of William "Bill" Hix and Linda (Buechter) Volmert.
Heather was a 1990 graduate of Iberia R-V and later attended CMSU for two years and finished her degree at Lincoln University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She was employed at The Lodge of Four Seasons where she held many titles while working and later worked at Stover as a Preschool Para. In 2010, Heather and Stacey bought a farm in Smithton where they raised chickens. Working on the family farm was never a job for Heather, it was a way of life. Heather had an unwavering work ethic and was an avid supporter of 4-H and FFA.
On August 6, 1994, at the Iberia First Christian Church, Heather was united in marriage to Stacey Luttrell. The two were partners in all things and weathered life's storms together, side by side. She was a proud mother to her three children and a "second mom" to countless others, who will remember the love and support she provided them. The greatest gift in her life was having the honor of being "Gigi" to her two grandsons, Briggs and Slate. She enjoyed music and attending truck and tractor pulls with her family. She was baptized at Rodden Church of Christ and lived everyday with the intention of being in God's grace. Heather will be remembered for countless attributes, including her strength, determination, kind-heart, and her unconditional love for family.
Those left to treasure her memory and continue her legacy are her husband, Stacey Luttrell; three children, Stacia (Zachary) Nowell, Cole (Isabelle) Luttrell, and Kiersten (Sam) Luttrell; grandsons, Briggs Nowell and Slate Luttrell; parents, Bill Hix and Linda Volmert; two sisters, Madeleine (Ryan) Cochran and Nikki (Matt) Rowden; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Charlene Luttrell; brother and sisters-in-law, Jason (Tara) Luttrell and Shawn Welch; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, countless friends, and her three canine companions.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norbert and Irene Buechter and Bob and Etta Hix; stepfather, James "Jim" Volmert, and brother-in-law, Michael Welch.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, June 11, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley.
