Helen Louise (Baumgartner) Hensley, age 92, of Kirksville, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at La Plata Nursing Home. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, on July 19, 1926, daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Holmes) Baumgartner. On January 5, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Helen married James Thomas Hensley Sr., who preceded her in death on November 28, 2012.

Helen enjoyed tending to her rose garden and going to various sales and auctions to add to her collection of antiques. She was a loving wife and mother who treasured the time spent with her family.

She is survived by one son, Tom Hensley and wife Connie of Kirksville; two grandchildren, Josh Hensley and wife Amanda of Kansas City and Jessica Hensley of Kirksville; and great-grandson, Hayes Thomas Hensley.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kay Blessing.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, at Iberia Cemetery.
