Obituary

Helen Louise (Holtmeyer) Branch, age 73, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home.  She was born in Tuscumbia on July 25, 1951, daughter of the late Alphonse Joseph and Regina Katerina (Luebbert) Holtmeyer.  On June 26, 1971, Helen was united in marriage to James Branch, who survives at their home.

Before retiring, Helen worked for Sherman Kelly and Associates and the Department of Natural Resources.  She enjoyed playing bingo and watching her great-grandson play sports, always cheering him on with pride and enthusiasm.  Helen often delighted in taking trips with her family and friends, creating cherished memories along the way.

She is survived by her husband, James Branch; son Christopher (Kim) Branch of Jefferson City; daughter, Melanie (Steve) Porter of Eldon; two granddaughters, Haley Branch of Jefferson City and Emily Johnson of Jefferson City; two grandsons, Steven Porter of Eldon and Aaron Porter of Wardsville; one great-grandson, Makel McAllister; siblings, Joann (Richard) Feltrop of Jefferson City, Leonard (Liz) Holtmeyer of St. Elizabeth, Irene (Kenny) Schaben of Meta, Mildred Musick (Mike Cunningham) of Aurora, and Bernice Holtmeyer of St. Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Virginia Holtmeyer of Westphalia and Debby (Bobby) Gipson of Ashland; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant brother, Alfred Holtmeyer; two brothers, Raymond and George Holtmeyer; sister-in-law, Terry Roark; brothers-in-law, Robert Musick and Jerry Branch; two nieces and three nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
