Obituary

Helen Louise Edwards, age 91, of Ulman, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020, after her battle with cancer, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Miller County on December 16, 1928, daughter of the late Claude and Grace (Wyrick) Martin. On May 20, 1946, in Camdenton, Helen married Otis Gene Edwards, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2015.

Helen retired from the University of Missouri Extension. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen was a woman of faith and was a devoted wife to her husband Gene, who served as a minister in various churches in the area for over 45 years with the loving support of Helen.

She is survived by two sons, Sam Edwards (Wilma) and Fred Edwards both of Ulman; six grandchildren, Jeff Barnhart, Tammy Wyrick, Crystal Edwards Lewis, Jill Bomar, Simon Edwards, and Cody Edwards; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gene, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Martin.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m., on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Charlie Worstell officiating. Interment will be held in Gott Cemetery in Ulman.

Facial masks and social distancing are highly encouraged for those attending the visitation and/or service.
