Obituary

Helen I. Nichols, age 77, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia. She was born on July 7, 1943, daughter of the late, William and Gladys (Sons) Pritchett. On November 28, 1964, in Tuscumbia, Helen was united in marriage to Dennis Nichols, who survives at their home.

Helen had an endearing personality. Her humility and sense of empathy for others allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life. She never missed the opportunity to tell those around her that she loved them and send them on their way with a loving hug.  The love for her family was unconditional and they will forever remember her sweet smile and caring heart.

Helen had one of the most rewarding careers as a homemaker. She was a woman of faith and devoted her life to God and helping those in need. Helen was an active member of Victory Hill Baptist Church near Dixon.

In addition to her husband, Dennis, she is also survived by two sons, Mike Cochran and wife Mary Jo and Lee Nichols and wife Deb; daughter, Jackie Bartley and husband Russ; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gene Pritchett (Janet), Kenneth Pritchett (Brenda), Jesse Pritchett (Shirley); three sisters, Sarah Duncan (Layman), Judy Robinett, and Rose Robinett (Terry); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James "Buck" Pritchett, sister, Glennis Moneymaker; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Robinett.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, January 14, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 15, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Dennis Nichols and Bro. David Visser officiating. Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Facial masks and social distancing are encouraged for those attending the visitation and/or service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Victory Hill Baptist Church.
