Helen Riemensnider, age 81, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in rural Dixon on February 16, 1935, daughter of the late Alman and Mabel (Curtman) Rowden. On June 14, 1958, in Iberia, Helen married Everett "Bud" Riemensnider, who survives at the home.
Helen was a devout Christian who loved her church, family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and Sunday dinners with her family. Helen was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Iberia.
In addition to her husband, Bud Riemensnider, she is also survived by one son, Bill Riemensnider and wife Dee of Iberia; three daughters, Amanda Newhart and husband Dan of Eldon, Anne Slawson and husband Chip of Iberia, and Valerie Minnick and husband Todd of Iberia; six grandchildren, Justin Riemensnider and wife Crystal, Luke Riemensnider, Garth Minnick and wife Cassandra, Isaac Minnick, Tyler Slawson, and Kaylie Slawson ; one great-grandchild, Noah Riemensnider; three brothers, Bill Rowden, Don Rowden, and Jerry Rowden; and three sisters, Eula Rotter, Beulah Humphrey, and Virginia Carroll.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lillie Barton and one infant brother, Clifford Ray Rowden.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, July 6, at Fairview Christian Church in Iberia. Randy Stohs will officiate. A private interment will be held at a later date in Bethany Cemetery near Iberia.
