Helen Elizabeth (Shelton) Cato, age 55, of Brumley, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at her home. She was born in St. Louis on March 31, 1967, daughter of the late Glen and Mary Jo (Reinhart) Shelton. On March 2, 1985, in Brumley, Helen was united in marriage to William "Bobby" Cato, who survives at their home.
Her favorite hobbies included web designing, graphic arts, and photography. She had a knack for restoring old photos and researching her family's genealogy. She had a remarkable memory of stories of the past. Her family was Helen's greatest joy in life, especially her granddaughter, Kinsley, (who she loved to spoil).
In addition to her husband, Bobby Cato, she is also survived by one son, Darrick Cato; daughter, Kristen Fleming and husband Sam; granddaughter, Kinsley Fleming; brother, Kevin Shelton and wife Shannon; nieces and nephews, Whitney, Brandon, Jennifer, Tyler, Tori, and Misty; sisters-in-law, Pamela, Tina, and Terri; biological mother, Carol Arvin and husband Richard; aunt, Anna Ruth McDonald; her faithful canine companion, Taz; and numerous cousins, family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Glen and Mary Jo Shelton; she was also preceded in death by her biological father, Tim Schaible, and numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Hawkins Cemetery in Brumley with Rev. Richard Arvin officiating.
