Homer "Dusty" Luttrell, age 64, of De Soto, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Edwardsville, Kansas, on January 20, 1949, son of the late Elmer and Pauline (Russell) Luttrell.
Dusty served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam from October 3, 1967, until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1971.
He is survived by his wife, April and stepdaughter, Annie of California; and five sisters, Ella Sickman of Edwards, Sharron Whitmill of De Soto, Kansas, Margie Luttrell of Olathe, Kansas, Katherine Childers of De Soto, Kansas, and Glenda Luttrell of De Soto, Kansas.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Gumm and Merle Logan Gumm.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley. Rev. Greg McClain will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
