Hubert Bernard Brandt, age 85, of Meta, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in Meta on June 27, 1933, son of the late Frank and Bernadine (Hake) Brandt.

Hubert attended St. Cecilia School in Meta. In addition to a life-long farmer, he was also a timber buyer, log cutter, and sold and serviced chainsaws. He enjoyed the simple things in life; family, good friends, and reading history books.

He is survived by one brother, Louis Brandt of Meta; one sister, Helen Clarkston of Jefferson City; two nieces, Gloria Sauer of St. Louis and Heather Luebbert of Jefferson City; and one nephew, Heath Clarkston of Jefferson City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Catherine Gray and brother-in-law, James Gray.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 22, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery.
