Obituary

Ina Mae Wyrick, age 91, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Linn Creek on May 5, 1926, daughter of the late James and Annie (West) Wallace. On August 18, 1944, in Eldon, Ina Mae married Clinton Wyrick, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1997.

Ina Mae was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church near Tuscumbia. She was a homemaker and farm woman, and a devoted wife and mother of four sons. Ina Mae was well known in her community; she volunteered at the Eldon Community Center helping with the meal program and playing music. She was known for her garage sales where she would often sell dozens of her homemade pies. She was an avid fan of college basketball—especially the KU and MU teams.

Ina Mae and her husband, Clinton founded Cedar Bluff Bluegrass band in 1972 where she sang and played her doghouse Kay bass. The band played at many bluegrass festivals as well as gospel sings, church socials and at nursing homes. After Clinton's death in 1997 Ina Mae continued to sing and play, jamming at festivals, and at nursing homes and community functions.

Most of all Ina Mae loved her family. She loved large family gatherings where she could cook, oversee card games—always "running the show". She attended many of her sons' and grandchildren's sporting events—baseball, football, basketball, swimming—she was in the stands and often the loudest fan!

She is survived by her son, Danny Wyrick and wife Claudia of Denver, Colorado; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Freida Wallis of Tuscumbia.

In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by three sons, Gary, Terry, and Kenny Wyrick.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 p.m. (noon), on Saturday, December 2, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia.
