Irene Carolyn Spencer, age 48, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Blakely, Georgia, on December 26, 1969, daughter of John and Sandra (May) Fraser. On August 12, 2000, in Tempe, Arizona she married Michael Spencer, who survives at their home.

Irene always saw the good in others, even when no one else could. Her heart and home were always open to those in need. Irene was a member of The Fishing House.

In addition to her husband, Michael Spencer, and her parents, John and Sandra Fraser; she is also survived by one son, Michael Spencer II of Iberia; one daughter, Sondra May of Georgia; one; one grandchild, Aubree Spencer; two brothers; two sisters; and a host of family and friends that thought of her as a mother.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
