Iva Roslind (Morgan) Hatton, age 90, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017, at her daughter's home in Osage Beach. She was born in East Prairie, Missouri on December 19, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Morgan and Alma (Powers) Morgan.


Iva worked for many years at Prairie Manufacturing in East Prairie, MO. She moved to Belleville in 1971 where she first worked for Best Western in South St. Louis. Later, she went to work for Edwards Equipment Company until her retirement.


She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and going to the casino. Iva enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved traveling and being with friends. Iva was matriarch of the family for 90 years and was in good health for all of those years.


She is survived by one son, Frank Hatton Jr. of the home; two daughters, Pat (Hatton) Thompson of Iberia and Sherian "Twiggy" (Hatton) Nelson of Osage Beach; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley (Morgan) Jeude of St. Louis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.


She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Brenda Joyce (Hatton) Layman; two granddaughters, Amy Michile and Rebecca Diane (Thompson) Castro; 10 brothers, Frankie Southard, F.E. "Nub" Southard, Gene Morgan, Howard Morgan, Marvin Morgan, Marion "Buddy" Morgan, Jack Morgan, Bill Morgan, Carl Morgan, and Larry Morgan; her former husband, Frank Hatton Sr. as well as her long-time
companion, Junior Edwards.


Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, February 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Jon Gerling, pastor of Iberia Nazarene Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
