Obituary

James "Jim" Clark, age 87, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia.  He was born in Tuscumbia on March 21, 1936, son of the late Thomas Arthur and Millie (Edwards) Clark.  On April 17, 1965, at Humphrey Creek Church, James was united in marriage to Nancy Flaugher, who survives at their home.

Jim served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge on December 31, 1964.  He was employed for 37 years as the Postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service.  He was instrumental in serving as Vice President of the Miller County Historical Society, assisting in all aspects for the organization to run productively.  Jim enjoyed woodworking and had a passion for history and reading.  He was a member of the Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge and Mt. Zion Christian Church in Tuscumbia.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Clark, he is also survived by his sister, Linda Ruff; his canine companion, Calli; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Coleen Annett and Glenda Wilson and brother, Orville Clark.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Masonic service and funeral immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Charlie Worstell officiating.  Interment with military honors will be held in Capps Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
