James William "Jamey" Dake, age 33, of Springfield formerly of Columbia, died Monday, June 23, 2008, in Springfield. He was born in Springfield on August 10, 1974, son of James Everett Shelton and Phyllis Marlene Dake.
He attended Dixon Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Dake Smith of Columbia; one son, James Micheal Dake of Columbia; one daughter, Mary Grace Dake of Columbia; his maternal grandparents, Farris and Iris Dake of Dixon; two brothers, Rick Shelton and wife Debbie of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and Justin Smith of Columbia; three sisters, LaVan Walker and husband Dale of Paragould, Arkansas, Sheila Shelton of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Lynna Howard and husband Eddie of Paragould, Arkansas; seven nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father on October 6, 1976, and his paternal grandparents, William and Marie Shelton.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Sullins officiating. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
