James "Jimmy" F. Emmerich, age 76, of Brumley, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Camden County on February 23, 1941, son of the late Walter James and Glenna V. (Bookout) Emmerich. In 1964, James married Mary Ellen Rodden, who survives at the home.
Jimmy worked for J.B. Deer Cedar Craft and later worked construction around the Lake area. He was a member of Glover Chapel Church of Christ.
In addition to his loving wife, Mary Ellen Emmerich, he is also survived by two children, Ragenia Smith of Kaiser and James Shannon Emmerich of Brumley; nine grandchildren, Trish, Rodney, Cody, Chrissy, Paul, Donnie, Micah, Lilly, and Destinie; nine great-grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Grace, Paige, Christina, Rachel, Matthew, Andie, and Brooklyn; one great-great-granddaughter, Harper; three brothers, Walter "Rumpy" Emmerich, Channey Emmerich, and Clay Emmerich; and one sister, Hermena Roddy.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sarah, one brother, John Emmerich.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon) with service immediately following at noon, on Friday, October 6, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Timothy Humphrey officiating. Interment will be in Robinett Cemetery near Brumley.
