James Edward Hicks, Sr., age 70, of Branson formerly of Iberia, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at HCR ManorCare in Springfield. He was born in Iberia on September 24, 1940, son of Harry and Pauline (Jones) Hicks.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline of Iberia; his faithful companion, Joann Patterson of Branson; two daughters, Sheryl Ann Parks and husband Larry of Troy and Beverley Ann Morris of St. Peters; one son, James Edward Hicks, Jr. of Osage Beach; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Hicks and wife Cathy of Iberia, Layne Hicks of Washington, Robert Hicks of Ladonia, and Glenn Hicks and wife Donna of St. Peters; and two sisters, Naomi Umfleet and husband Noel of Crocker and Paula Hicks of Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Hicks; one daughter, Amanda Dean Hicks; and an infant brother, Larry Wayne Hicks.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Iberia Church of the Nazarene.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
