James E. Martin, age 66, of Ulman, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home. He was born in San Francisco, California, on October 7, 1944, son of the late Herbert and Wilma (Patterson) Martin.
James served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Midway as a fuel System Maintenance Manager.
He is survived by one son, Steven Martin and wife Becky of Tuscumbia; three grandchildren, Shanae Raynes, Brandon Roark, and Shelbi Roark all of Tuscumbia; one brother, Herb Martin of Tennessee; and one sister, Patsy Angel of North Carolina.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. David Visser will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, March 24, at the funeral home.
