James Anthony Nixdorf, age 63, of Ulman, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Tuscumbia on April 21, 1950, son of Herbert James and Arzena (Stark) Nixdorf.

James served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Ulman Christian Church and was baptized in 1966.

He is survived by his mother, Arzena Nixdorf; four siblings; Betty Drace, Dennis Nixdorf, Sue Nixdorf, and Perry Nixdorf all of Ulman; eight nieces and nephews, Chuck Drace of Iberia, Jason Drace of Ulman, Crystal Bateman of St. Louis, Lucretia Drace of Ulman, Tiffany Wickham of Ulman, Les Nixdorf of Ulman, Davey Drace of Ulman, and P.J. Nixdorf of Colorado; seventeen great nieces and nephews, and several relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Nixdorf and brother-in-law, Dave Drace.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Fancher- Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia, with a graveside service immediately following at Gott Cemetery near Ulman, on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Ralph Byrd will officiate. Interment with military honors will be under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Gott Cemetery.
