Janette "Net" Whittle, age 83, of Brumley, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010, at her home. She was born in Iberia on August 7, 1927, daughter of the late Arkley Owen and Belle (Clark) Hensley. On February 1, 1947, in Iberia, Janette married Verner Talbert Whittle, who preceded her in death on March 8, 2003.

Janette was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church near Iberia.

She is survived by two sons, Greg Whittle and wife Phyllis and Rick Whittle and wife Robin both of Brumley; step daughter-in-law, Marion Raymo of Brumley; eight grandchildren; one step-grandson; thirteen great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Hensley and wife Jean of Kansas City; and one sister Barb Rollins and husband Myrl of Crocker.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Whittle; one sister, Ruby Piggott; one brother, Velmore Hensley; and one step-grandson, Jason Dickey.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, January 3, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
