Janice Nadine (Haugen) Robinette, age 81, of Ulman, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on March 25, 1945, daughter of the late Howard and Inga Louise (Hellum) Haugen. On December 11, 1964, in San Diego, California, she was united in marriage to Donald Robinette, who survives at their home.

Jan was a devoted member of Ulman Baptist Church. Her creativity shone through the beautiful quilts and afghans she made. She especially treasured “those drives” she shared with her husband, Don—adventures that often lasted 10 to 12 days and created many cherished memories along the way. Above all, Jan was deeply devoted to her family and found great joy in knowing that a new addition to the family was expected in February 2027.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Robinette; son, Brian Dale Robinette; grandsons, Kraig Jordan and Trevor Morgan Sumpter; granddaughter, Amara Victoria Ohaechesi; son-in-law, Victor Ohaechesi; sister, Patrisha George; brother, Curt Haugen; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Louise Haugen; daughter, Karen Lee Ohaechesi; and three siblings, Joan Ferro, Leslie Gonzales, and Howard Haugen, Jr.

A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, at Robinett Cemetery near Brumley with Connie Wickham officiating. Family and friends are welcome to a luncheon following the graveside service at the Ulman Baptist Church.
