Jean Barnett, age 89, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Granite City, Illinois, on September 10, 1928, daughter of the late Elmer and May (Johnson) Grosvenor. On December 30, 1946, in Harrison, Arkansas, Jean married Dennis Wayne Barnett, who survives at their home.
Jean and her husband, Wayne, owned and operated Barnett Shoe and Clothing Store in Iberia for over 50 years. She was a faithful member of Iberia First Christian Church.
In addition to her loving husband, Wayne Barnett, she is also survived by one son, Dale Barnett and wife Debbie of Dixon; daughter-in-law, Karen Barnett of Brumley; four grandchildren, Angie Luttrell, Sarah Bashore, Kim Hoffmann, and Michael Barnett; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dwight Barnett; grandson, David Barnett; and sister, Marilyn Grosvenor.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Rev. Stan Way officiating. Interment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
