Jean D. Bock, age 77, of Meta, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in St. Louis on January 26, 1929, daughter of Charles Dorsey and Pauline Agnes (Kern) Roberds. On September 19, 1949, in Meta, she was married to James Henry Bock, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1986.
She was a member of the League of Women Voters of Osage County, St. Cecilia Catholic Church, St. Cecilia Cemetery Board, the D.A.V. Women's Auxiliary, the Retired Navy Auxiliary, and the Citizens Civic League of Meta. She was a former alderman for the City of Meta and worked as an accountant for Diamond Pet Foods in Meta.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Bock and wife, Helen of Jefferson City and MAJ Timothy Bock and wife, Jeanine of St. Joseph; two daughters, Marilyn Thomas of Meta and Brenda Schanzmeyer and husband, Gene of Bremerton, Washington; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Donald Roberds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the church with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Cecilia Cemetery Fund.
