Jean Marie Heskett Skidds, age 67, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Ida Grove, Iowa, on February 19, 1950, daughter of the late Everett and Karoline (Peterson) Buchanan.

On March 15, 1968, in Beatrice, Nebraska, Jean married Terrence Heskett, who preceded her in death on October 21, 1996. To this union Jean and Terrence were blessed with six children. On April 29, 2006 in Iberia, Jean married Earl Skidds who preceded her in death on November 11, 2006.

Jean volunteered at many local organizations including the Iberia Senior Center, Iberia Christian Youth Center, and with Bible Study at Miller County Care Center. Jean was active in Iberia Girl Scouts and a member of the Iberia First Christian Church.

She is survived by five children, Michelle Heskett of Warrensburg, Sheila Noll (Charlie) of Iberia, Terrence Heskett Jr. of Windsor, Kathleen Tye (Joe) of Sedalia, and William Heskett (Courtney) of Iberia; five grandchildren; and one sister, Letha Carton of Humansville.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Carr; and three brothers, Tome, Herman, and Robert Buchanan.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 8 at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Adams Memorial Cemetery near Warrensburg with William Thompson officiating.
