Jean Zelsdorf, age 98, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at her home. She was born in Nebraska on December 14, 1916, daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Simms) Stacy. On February 3, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa, Jean married George Harold Zelsdorf, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1989.
Jean was a member of the Iberia Community Club, Iberia First Christian Church, and a past board member of the Iberia Senior Center. Many years ago Jean also volunteered for U.S.O Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Maxine Davis of Iberia; one son, George Zelsdorf of Vienna, Virginia; four grandchildren, Bennie "B.J." Davis, Vicki Baucom, Eric Zelsdorf, and Jeff Zelsdorf; three step-grandchildren, Robert, Cindy, and Mimi; fifteen great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers; four sisters, one grandson, Roger Davis; and one great-great-grandson, Jayden.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 4 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Iberia First Christian Church. Inurnment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
