Jerry Lynn Downing, Sr., age 71, of Iberia, passed away on July 4, 2023, at Lake Meadows in Osage Beach.  He was born in Camdenton on July 1, 1952, son of the late Paul and Ruth (Crall) Downing.

Jerry never knew a stranger and was always willing to help others in need. He had an unwavering love for his family, especially his grandchildren, and was known to be a bit of a prankster when it came to his siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber Russell-Gentry; son, Jason (Josie) Russell; 10 grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Earl, John, and Adrian Downing, and his sister, Betty Jane Schultz.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with services immediately following at 12 (noon)., on Friday, July 7, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Chip Sanders officiating.  Interment will be held in Hugo Cemetery near Camdenton.
