Jerry Wayne Strickland, age 79, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at his home.  He was born in North Carolina on September 10, 1946, son of the late Herbert and Ruby Ross.  On September 4, 1972, in Dillon, South Carolina, Jerry was united in marriage to Gabrielle "Gabby" Ingeborg Boge, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2023.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army throughout the Vietnam War and enjoyed a distinguished military career as a drill sergeant and Airborne Ranger, that lasted more than two decades.  He took pleasure in spending time outdoors fishing and cherished the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Choat and husband Dusty; two grandchildren, Savannah Burd and wife Jasmine and Shane Choat and girlfriend Harley Ruppel; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Guy and John Strickland; and sister, Grace Smith.

It was Jerry's final wish to be cremated.  There are no services planned at this time.
