Jerry Dale Witt, age 80, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home.  He was born in Brumley on February 20, 1942, son of the late Everett and Tilda (Shelton) Witt.  On November 4, 1960, in Hawkeye, Jerry was united in marriage to Ruth Geneva Robinett, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2018.

Jerry took great pride in helping his sons in the hayfield and loved spending time rabbit hunting and fishing.  Jerry had a contagious smile and was a faithful member of Concord Christian Church.

He is survived by three sons, Mike (Trish) Witt of Iberia, Gerald (Maggie) Witt of Iberia, and Stacy (Betty) Witt of Brumley; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Iven Witt, Jim (Doris) Witt, and Alan (Barb) Witt; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jared Witt; six sisters, Ruth Rodden, Irene McDowell, Grace York, Dean Plemmons, Nora Rodden, and Lois Comer, and brother, Doral Witt.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 13, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Freddie Earp officiating.  Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley.
