Jesse Edward Moore, age 87, of Houston, formerly of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. He was born in Iberia on January 19, 1929, son of the late Floyd Lewis and Minnie Glee (Livingston) Moore. In September of 1974, Jesse married Avis Marie (Williams) Collins Moore, who preceded him in death on October 9, 2015.
Jesse was a member of the Iberia Nazarene Church and attended Northside Baptist Church.
Jesse is survived by two sons, Mike Moore and wife Charlotte of Iberia and Bruce Moore and wife Lisa of Linn Creek; sister, Edith Rowden of Iberia; brother-in-law, Ernest E. "Gene" Williams and wife Shirley of Houston; six grandchildren, Leslie Stoumbaugh and husband Kent of Crocker, Evan Moore and wife Lacy of Richland, T.J. Moore and wife Jordan of Iberia, Cody Moore, Cooper Moore, and Kylee Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braxton, Trevor, & Julia Moore.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 28, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Wesley Wallace will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Madden Cemetery near Iberia.
