Jewell F. Hixenbaugh, age 95, of Iberia, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Iberia on December 15, 1914, daughter of the late Dave and Annie (Gray) Bailey. On April 16, 1938, in Waynesville, Jewell married William Alonzo Hixenbaugh, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1982.
She worked as a Postal Clerk at the Iberia Post Office and also at the Miller County Agents Office. Jewell was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Iberia.
She is survived by family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Zella Barr on April 14, 2008.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Freddie Earp will officiate. Interment will be in Jarrett Cemetery near Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Jarrett Cemetery.
