Jimmy Martin Turner, age 72, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, February 2, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on March 26, 1934, a son of the late James W. and Agnes (Kelly) Turner. On July 3, 1956 in Tuscumbia, he was married to Bonnie Mae Phillips, who survives at the home.
After serving in the Navy, Jimmy lived and worked in the State of California for 10 years.
Others who survive him include: two daughters, Glenda Turner of Tuscumbia and Lorraine Burris of Olean; one son, Donald Turner of Tuscumbia; one granddaughter, Erin Turner of California; and one half-sister, Mary Katherine Mitchell of Lawrence, Kansas.
One sister, Dona Turner of Versailles and one aunt, Lillie Varner of Kansas, also preceded him in death.
His body has been cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. A private burial will be held at a later date.
