Joe Bob Davis, age 83, of Lake Ozark formerly of Pittsburg, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was born in Greenfield on March 1, 1933, son of the late Perry William and Martha Elizabeth (Hickman) Davis. On October 1, 1981, in Franklin County, Kansas, Joe married Dean Wagoner, who preceded him on December 2, 2014.
Joe served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until his honorable discharge on April 7, 1955. He was enlisted as a telegrapher and served 8 years in the army reserve. He was an outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed fishing and wood-working. Joe cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by five children, Linda Salazar and husband Richard, Carolyn DeVore and husband Guy, Lucy Turner & husband Pat, Donna Van Donsel & husband Jeff, and Judy Almaguer; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George (Jack) Davis and Billy Davis and one sister, Mary Lou DeGroot.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Monday, October 17, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Connie Wickham will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Gott Cemetery near Ulman.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association.
