John Fergus "Ferg" Hammack, age 67, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born in Newton, KS on September 5, 1949, son of Archie Ulysses and Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson) Hammack. On August 11, 1974, in Iberia, Ferg married ReVae Wynette Humphrey, who survives at their home.
Ferg owned and operated his own dump truck business from 1969 to 2002. In 2004, Ferg began working at Iberia R-V as a school bus driver for bus #48. Ferg enjoyed going out to his 40 acres with his wife, ReVae.
In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, ReVae Hammack, he is also survived by his mother, Mary Hammack of Iberia; one sister, Joy Reichert of Iberia; sisters-in-law, Connie Hammack, Nancy Groves (Larry), and Alice Lane (Roger); two brothers-in-law, Darrell Humphrey and Dwight Humphrey (Tina); two nephews, Tim Hammack (Stephanie) and Kelly Hammack (Jan); four nieces, Ginger Reichert, Tera Humphrey, Latesha Zach (Alex), and Katie Wright (Erick); one aunt, Elma Armistead of St. Louis; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Hammack and one brother, Roger Hammack.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at noon, on Thursday, November 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Homes in Iberia. Bro. Jon Skiles will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
