John Fred Hill Jr., age 53, of Iberia, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda, on January 18, 1955, son of John Fred and Alma Lorene (Copeland) Hill. On April 6, 1973, in Tuscumbia, he was married to Debra Ann Cecilia Bax, who survives at the home.
He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He worked for over 20 years at Ft. Leonard Wood as a supply and computer analyst and chief of the logistics division.
Other survivors include one son, Arron Hill of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter, Danielle Hill and fiancé Jeremy Seel of Iberia; his mother, Alma Hill of Iberia; his father, John F. Hill Sr. of Crocker; two grandchildren, Logan Seel and Kinley Seel both of Iberia; two sisters, Darlene Pemberton of Iberia, and Kathy Neuman of Dixon; two nephews, Darren Pemberton of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, and Trevor Plemmons of Iberia.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Higbie officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Iberia Cemetery.
