John "Jack" William Nichols, age 89, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his home. He was born in Esterville, Iowa on July 23, 1926. On January 13, 1972, in Clinton, Jack married Glenda "Kinni" Salsberry, who survives at the home.
Jack served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Hancock during WWII. He was a member of the Crocker VFW, Iberia American Legion Post 105, and the United Methodist Church in Iberia.
In addition to his loving wife, Glenda "Kinni" Nichols, he is also survived by three daughters, Debra Ryder of California, Terri Sklucacek of Arizona, and Linda Jeffries of Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Shannon Powell of Stewartsville; seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Nichols; two brothers, and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Final disposition will be in Dickinson County Cemetery in Terrell, Iowa.
