Johnny Ray Holtmeyer, age 54, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at his home. He was born in Tuscumbia on August 13, 1959, son of Frank and Ruby (Haigwood) Holtmeyer.
Johnny was a Petty Officer in the United States Navy for 22 years, serving during Kuwait and Desert Storm. He was employed with Dean Holtmeyer Construction.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Holtmeyer; five brothers, Joel Holtmeyer and wife Dianne, Simmie Holtmeyer and wife Rosemary, Frank Holtmeyer and wife Laverne, Lawrence Holtmeyer, and Harry Holtmeyer; three sisters, Delores Boys and husband Don, Donna Cooke, and Alice Holtmeyer; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Holtmeyer Sr.; one brother, Robert Holtmeyer; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Holtmeyer.
Visitation will be from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Community Center. Sonny Meyer will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnny Ray Holtmeyer Memorial Fund.
