Josephine "Josie" Herx, age 67, of St. Anthony, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Iberia on June 18, 1942, daughter of the late Martin Henry and Josephine Mary (Holtmeyer) Wieberg. On October 6, 1962, in St. Anthony, Josie married Ralph Joseph Herx, who survives at the home.

She worked for 43 years at L.B. Manufacturing in Iberia until her retirement in March 2009. Josie was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

She is also survived by one son, Fred Herx and wife Lisa; one grandson, Mitchell Herx; one granddaughter, Renea Herx; one great-grandson, Cole Herx all of St. Anthony; three brothers, Martin Wieberg, Tony Wieberg, and Norbert Wieberg; and three sisters, Catherine Otto, Christine Otto, and Cecilia Kempker.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Wieberg and one sister, Marie Theresa Wieberg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at the St. Anthony Parish Hall from 4-8 p.m., with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service to conclude the visitation.
