Joshua Sylvester, age 42, of Iberia, departed this life on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine, on April 26, 1979, son of Daniel and June (Nadeau) Sylvester. On August 19, 2006, Joshua married the love of his life, Jamie Lynn Rowan, who survives at their home with their five children.

Joshua joined the United States Air Force in 1999 where he was honorably discharged. He was pastor at First Baptist Church in St. Elizabeth for two years and later became the associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Iberia and Hospice Chaplain.

Joshua was an avid Star Wars fan. He had an unconditional love for his family and friends, and he will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

In addition to his wife, Jamie Sylvester, and children, Dahlia (13), Aurellia (11), Aurora (9), Harrison (6), and Hudson (3), he is also survived by his parents, Daniel and June Sylvester; brother, Caleb (Beth) Sylvester; sister, Joy (Nathan) Olson; father and mother in-law, Tony and Susie Rowan; brother-in-law, Jeremy (Katie) Rowan; sister-in-law, Jess (Keith) Rowan; and fifteen nieces and nephews; and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with a memorial service immediately following at 12 (noon), on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Iberia with Bro. Roy Bryant officiating.
