Joy LaRae Reichert, age 90, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City. She was born on May 24, 1935, daughter of the late Archie Ulysses and Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson) Hammack.
Joy was employed for over 20 years with Iberia City Hall. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Holly Guild Club, and a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Iberia. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
She took pleasure in collecting mushroom figurines and miscellaneous knickknacks over the years. Joy cherished her family and took great joy and pride in her relationship with her beloved daughter, Ginger. Her bond with her family shaped many of Joy's happiest moments throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Reichert; two sisters-in-law, Connie Hammack and ReVae Hammack; nieces; nephews; great-nephews; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Mary Hammack, and two brothers, Roger Hammack and John "Ferg" Hammack.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., Monday, June 30, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be held in Iberia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the United Methodist Church.
