Joyce Carol (Landreth) Duncan "Doodle", age 66, of St. Elizabeth, received angels wings on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at her home. She was born in Madison County, Illinois, on April 8, 1944, daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Fancher) Landreth. Joyce was married to Oleph Duncan, who preceded her in death on July 4, 2004.
Joyce was an avid George Jones fan and was a member of Humphrey's Creek Christian Church near St. Elizabeth.
She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Carol Stickney of St. Elizabeth and Dana Kay Stark of Westphalia; one son, Daniel Paul Stark of Ulman; five grandchildren, Linsey Landreth, Josh Landreth, Dustin Stickney, Dillion Stark, and Lacey Landreth; five great-grandchildren; eight step-children, Darlene Kliethermes, Jimmy Tomblinson, Gene Tomblinson, Kelly Louk, Sherry Brisbin, Billy Duncan, Sue Kyle, and Bev Duncan; nine brothers and sisters, Dutch Landreth, Tom Landreth, Ozzie Landreth, Jeannie Robinett, Geri Bash, Vera Woods, Becky Henson, Bob Landreth, and Mike Landreth; and numerous step grandchildren and family.
She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Stacy Stickney, David Lee Stickney, and Jesse Stark; one sister, Sis Beal; and one brother, David Landreth.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Monday, December 13, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of St. Elizabeth. Bro. Gene Edwards and Bro. Jim Dowdy will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in Capps Cemetery near St. Elizabeth.
