Joyce Lydia Jarrett

Joyce Lydia (Kelsay) Jarrett, age 97, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Richland Care Center. She was born on November 12, 1928, daughter of the late Henry Willard and Velva Lacy (Forrester) Kelsay. On April 30, 1950, at Hickory Point Baptist Church, Joyce was united in marriage to Ellis Windorf Jarrett, who preceded her in death on December 5, 2006.

Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother who was blessed with 97 wonderful years full of love and precious memories with her family. She cherished spending time with her kids and grandkids and loved her baby snuggles. Joyce had a passion for cooking, and enjoyed working alongside her husband, Ellis, tending to the family farm and working in the turkey barns.

Joyce was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was an active member of the Hickory Point Baptist Church, where her unwavering faith and kindness touched many in the community.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Sharon) Jarrett; daughter, Lisa (Danny) Limbach; six grandchildren, Heidi (Rodney) Roark, Kayla (Casey) Piggott, Zach (Nancy) Jarrett, Josh Burns, Cody Limbach, and Mackenzie (Kody) Bisges; great-grandchildren, Dawson Roark, Ty Roark, Rylan Roark, Waylon Roark, Jaylon Piggott, Ryker Piggott, Kinser Piggott, Emma Jarrett, and Brynlee Bisges; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three siblings, John Kelsay, Samuel “Sam” Kelsay, and Wanda Mote.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services at 12 (noon), on Monday, November 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Brandon Kissinger officiating. Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hickory Point Cemetery.
